Job Description

Mission Kharkiv is one of the largest medical charitable organizations in Ukraine in terms of the volume of assistance provided. One of our key areas of work is the systematic support of adult patients with cancer.

Since 2022, our organization has implemented large-scale programs providing medicines, patient transportation and evacuation, first aid, hygiene kits, psychosocial support for beneficiaries, and capacity-building for healthcare professionals.

Role Summary: The Family Doctor / Mobile Medical Team Physician provides primary healthcare to vulnerable populations in communities with limited access to medical services. The physician conducts outpatient visits to households, provides consultations at designated locations of the Valky Primary Healthcare Center, and ensures diagnosis, treatment, referrals, and medical documentation in accordance with national standards and protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Medical Care and Diagnostics

  • Provides medical consultations, conducts basic physical examinations, and measures vital signs.
  • Prescribes treatment and issues prescriptions, including for medicines covered by the “Affordable Medicines” program.
  • Monitors patients’ adherence to prescribed medication regimens and provides counseling on the prevention of complications.
  • Determines the need for hospitalization or referral to secondary or tertiary healthcare services.
  • Conducts regular health assessments of patients with chronic conditions, persons with disabilities, older people, women, and children.

Cooperation with Healthcare Facilities

  • Works in coordination with the Valky Primary Healthcare Center (PHC Center).
  • Works in coordination with the Project Manager.
  • Coordinates field visit schedules in cooperation with the Medical Specialist.
  • Exchanges clinical information with healthcare professionals and other levels of care, with the patient’s consent.

Coordination and Reporting

  • Maintains primary medical records, completes patient visit forms, and records patient data in the medical information system.
  • Prepares weekly reports on medical activities and submits data to the Medical Specialist and/or Project Manager.
  • Assesses patients according to the eligibility criteria for Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance (MPCA) and refers patients to healthcare professionals and MPCA specialists.
  • Ensures confidentiality and compliance with professional ethics when working with patients.

Requirements:

  • Higher medical education, specialization in General Practice – Family Medicine.
  • At least 2 years of experience in primary healthcare; experience in humanitarian programs or mobile clinics is an advantage.
  • Access to one of the current Medical Information Systems (MIS) and the ability to record consultations in the MIS under the “Outpatient Medical Care for Adults and Children” service package of the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSU).
