The project aims to address urgent protection and healthcare needs in war-affected communities in Sumy Oblast, particularly in areas located within 0–50 km of the frontline.
Constant shelling, insecurity, and damage to critical infrastructure significantly limit the population’s access to healthcare, psychosocial, and social services.
The project combines direct humanitarian assistance, capacity building for communities and healthcare workers, and strengthening local response systems to improve safety, access to essential services, and the resilience of affected populations.
Key areas of assistance
- Safe and accessible transportation to medical and social services, including for people with disabilities and limited mobility.
- Case management for people facing complex protection risks.
- Referrals to specialized medical, legal, psychosocial, and social services.
- Information and counselling support on protection issues and access to assistance.
- Individual targeted cash or in-kind assistance for vulnerable people facing protection risks.
- Psychosocial support, including psychological first aid.
- Training in Basic Life Support (BLS), first aid, and Stop the Bleed.
- Provision of Individual First Aid Kits (IFAKs) to training participants.
- Distribution of OTC medicine kits in frontline and evacuation communities.
- Provision of medical equipment, supplies, and other medical goods to healthcare facilities.
- Community information, feedback mechanisms, and accountability to affected populations.
