Mental Health Support
Psychological support for people living with cancer and healthcare professionals:
We Are Here for You
Cancer patients in Ukraine face more than just a diagnosis. They endure the strain of war, displacement, financial hardship, and isolation – all while fighting a life-threatening illness. Chronic stress isn’t just a background condition; it directly affects survival rates and treatment outcomes.
9.6 million Ukrainians live with mental health conditions, 80% of Ukrainians live with chronic or frequent stress.
In Ukrainian society, the topic of mental health is stillsurrounded by stigma. Too many people suffer in silence – not because help isunavailable, but because seeking it often feels frightening or inappropriate.
We advocate for psychological support to become an integralpart of cancer care – as it has long been in many countries around the world.Because the body and mind must heal together.
At Mission Kharkiv, we believe that psychological support is not an optional extra – it’s essential care. That’s why mental health is a core component of our Ukraine Cancer Relief program
As part of our mental health program, we provide patients with accessible and structured psychological support. Our specialists work within three main therapeutic approaches: client-centered therapy, Gestalt therapy, and positive psychotherapy.
We offer free group and individual online sessions with professional psychologists for:
- people living with cancer;
- oncologists and healthcare professionals.
Our group online sessions create a safe space for communication, emotional support, and strengthening inner resilience. Each group includes up to 10 participants.
Individual therapy focuses on each patient’s personal experiences and needs.
The program is free of charge, and participation is anonymous and confidential.
