Hygiene kits distribution
For cancer patients in Ukraine, especially those undergoing treatment in frontline or resource-limited settings, access to basic hygiene is often compromised. Daily routines like washing, oral care, and personal grooming – so critical for comfort and dignity – become difficult or impossible.
Mission Kharkiv is currently in the preparatory phase of launching a new hygiene kit distribution program focused on cancer patients. This initiative aims to support comfort, cleanliness, and psychological well-being – because healing involves more than medicine.
Designed with care, based on real needs
To ensure that each kit reflects what patients truly need, we have initiated a feedback and assessment process in collaboration with oncologists and healthcare providers.
- Clinicians are distributing surveys to cancer patients to gather input on hygiene-related needs
- Feedback considers disease stage, personal circumstances, and financial vulnerability
- Contents of the kits will be adapted accordingly – ensuring dignity, not duplication
We believe that hygiene support should never be generic. It should be personal, informed, and respectful.
Who this program will serve
- Oncology patients undergoing chemotherapy or post-surgical care.
- Individuals living in war-affected, de-occupied, or rural communities.
- Patients who are immobile, immunocompromised, or socially isolated.
- People who cannot afford or access hygiene products due to war, poverty, or displacement.

Why it matters
In Ukraine’s frontline regions, transportation is not a logistical detail – it is a lifesaving intervention. Whether it’s a woman in pain awaiting a diagnosis, an elderly man needing chemotherapy, or a patient stuck in an evacuation zone, Mission Kharkiv ensures no one is left behind.

Hygiene kits go beyond health – they restore a sense of normalcy, self-worth, and control in situations where patients often feel powerless.
In cancer care, even small things like clean towels, sanitary items, or wipes can ease discomfort and support mental health.
