Job Description

Mission Kharkiv is one of the largest medical charitable organizations in Ukraine in terms of the volume of assistance provided. One of our key areas of work is the systematic support of adult cancer patients.

Since 2022, our organization has been implementing large-scale programs for the supply of medicines, patient transportation and evacuation, first aid provision, distribution of hygiene kits, as well as providing psychosocial support to beneficiaries and strengthening the capacity of medical personnel.

Role Summary

The Pharmacist / Health Manager provides professional oversight of the procurement, storage, and distribution of medical supplies and rapid diagnostic tests. The role ensures compliance with pharmaceutical standards and national healthcare regulations throughout the receipt, storage, and delivery of medical goods.

The Pharmacist / Health Manager verifies product compliance with pharmaceutical requirements, monitors storage conditions, and ensures proper handling of medicines, diagnostic tests, and other medical supplies. The position also involves coordination with healthcare facilities receiving medical goods and monitoring their use in line with clinical protocols and regulatory requirements.

Work Format

Office-based in Kharkiv / Kharkiv region, with business trips across Ukraine (Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, and Kyiv regions).

Expected start date: May 1, 2026

Key Responsibilities

Professional Oversight of Medical Supplies

  • Oversee procurement, storage, and distribution of rapid diagnostic tests and medical kits
  • Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical standards and national regulations

Quality and Compliance Control

  • Verify that medical products meet technical specifications and quality standards
  • Monitor storage conditions (temperature, shelf life, cold chain)
  • Ensure proper handling of medicines and diagnostic tests

Coordination with Healthcare Facilities

  • Liaise with primary and specialized healthcare facilities regarding receipt and use of medical supplies
  • Ensure correct use of medical goods in line with clinical protocols and regulatory requirements

Logistics and Project Support

  • Work closely with the Procurement Manager and Logistics Manager to plan supply and distribution
  • Ensure timely and continuous delivery to healthcare facilities

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain records on receipt, storage, and distribution of medical goods
  • Prepare reports for project management and donors

Other Duties

  • Temporary replacement of colleagues, expansion of geographic scope of responsibility, and execution of special assignments from management

Requirements

  • Higher education in pharmacy or medicine
  • Experience working with pharmaceutical products, medical kits, and diagnostic tests
  • Knowledge of national healthcare standards and pharmaceutical regulations
  • Experience in monitoring storage conditions, cold chain, and proper handling of medicines
  • Strong coordination skills with healthcare facilities and project teams
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Assets (Nice to Have)

  • Experience in humanitarian projects, particularly in frontline areas
  • Experience in procurement and supply management of medical goods
  • Knowledge of international quality standards (GMP, GDP, ISO, GSP)
  • Experience with documentation and electronic systems (ERP, Airtable, Excel)
  • Experience training medical staff or conducting briefings on the use of medical supplies
  • Certification in PSEA and other humanitarian training
