Job Description
Mission Kharkiv is one of the largest medical charitable organizations in Ukraine in terms of the volume of assistance provided. One of the key areas of our work is systematic support for adult patients with oncological diseases.

Since 2022, our organization has been implementing large-scale programs for the delivery of medications, transportation and evacuation of patients, provision of first aid, distribution of hygiene kits, as well as providing psychosocial support to beneficiaries and strengthening the capacity of medical staff.

Role Summary:
The Nurse (Female/Male) in the mobile medical team will provide patient care, treatment, and monitoring in accordance with physician instructions, service protocols, and universal hygiene standards/measures. The nurse will ensure high-quality and continuous care for target population groups. The role involves close collaboration with other members of the mobile team (doctor, psychologist, social worker) to deliver high-quality, integrated support to vulnerable communities affected by the conflict.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the physician during consultations (e.g., blood collection for glucose testing; measuring blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation; changing dressings, catheters; wound care as needed).
  • Complete patient records before and after consultations by mobile team members.
  • Monitor the quality and working condition of medical equipment and report any issues to the pharmacist.
  • Ensure that all children have an updated vaccination schedule and refer as necessary.
  • Implement and promote universal hygiene standards/measures, biological hazard prevention, and infection control.
  • Conduct medical triage, reception, observation, and follow-up care in the clinic (assessing health status and identifying any deterioration). Assist patients with limited mobility and persons with disabilities.
  • Identify patients who may require psychological and/or social support and refer them to the mobile team’s psychologist or social worker.
  • Participate in data collection and information management for the mobile medical team (Airtable database and Excel spreadsheets).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Qualified nurse with relevant diploma.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a nurse in primary health care facilities.
  • Knowledge and skills in emergency life support are an advantage.
  • Previous experience with non-governmental organizations is a plus.
  • Results-oriented, team player, eager to learn, flexible, and able to work under stressful conditions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
